Treatments

Skin Care

Psoriasis : - it is an autoimmune skin disorder that presents as scaly red patches on body, thick dandruff on scalp and thickening of palms and soles. It is a genetic condition with chronic course(may last for many months to years) mild to moderate type of psoriasis is treated using topical creams, gels or lotions in different combination and doses which can be highly effective. It includes topical vitamin D (calcipotriol), corticosteroids, coal-tar based preparations, vitamin A-like preparations and dithranol. Severe psoriasis is treated by ultraviolet light, oral immunomodulators and injectable treatments.



Urticaria : - it is a common skin condition which presents as continuous itching, redness and swelling of skin and rarely of lips and eyes. It can be acute (of short duration, > 2 months) or chronic (long duration, < 2 months). In Most of the urticaria, the cause is external like drugs, infections, food allergen some urticaria is autoimmune, i.e. the body’s own blood contains allergens. Treatment for urticaria needs to be systematic, excluding the causative factor, oral and injectable medicines depending on the type of urticaria.



Eczema :- It is a chronic, relapsing, itchy skin condition which causes a lot of distress to the patient. It can be caused by various irritants like detergents, oils, chemicals. Various types of eczemas are atopic eczema, seborrheic eczema, allergic eczema, irritant eczema etc. All eczemas can be successful controlled with oral and topical medications and routine skin care as advised


Warts :- It is a skin infection caused by human papilloma virus (HPV). It presents clinically as extra growth of skin on body. Warts (also known as verrucae) are of different types from flat, filiform, pedunculated. They commonly occur on face, around the nails, palms, soles and genital areas. The warts on genital areas can be carcinogenic, hence need to be diagnosed and treated soon. Warts can be successfully treated by electrocautery which removes the wart completely and painlessly from the skin in one sitting only. Other treatments include application of keratolytics, oral immunomodulators and immunotherapy to prevent its recurrences

Corn and skin tags : - skin tags are non infectious type of extra skin growth. They appear commonly on face, neck, underarms. They keep increasing with time and later cause skin irritation and infection. Corns are heap of skin growth seen on palms and soles and can be painful. The only way to get rid of it permanently is by surgical removal with radiofrequency cauterisation.

Hair Care

Common hair problems include diffuse hair fall, dandruff alopecia areata and androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in males and females. These hair problems can be easily treated with oral tablets, lotions and various procedures including mesotherapy, stem cell injections, dermaroller and PRP. Telogen Effluvium :- Diffuse hairfall can occur because of nutritional deficiencies of iron , zinc , vitamin B12 etc; chemical treatment of hair (straightening, perming, ironing, dyeing, improper handling of hairs),hormonal conditions like PCOD and thyroid problems.

Alopecia areata :- is seen as sudden appearances of patches of hair loss in hair growing areas like scalp, beard, eyebrows and eyelashes. It is an autoimmune condition and hence can be recurrent.

AGA :- is an hereditary condition presenting in generations of family as bald patches of hair loss, receding of front line, reduced density and thinning of hair.

Nail care

Common nail problems include onychomycosis, ingrowing toe nail and bacterial paronychia brittle and lustreless nails.

Onychomycosis : - is a fungal infection of nail causing green to black discolouration of nail plate. It is caused due to overgrowth of the fungus due to excessive sweating and hence more common in males and athlete due to closed footwear. Toe nails are more commonly affected than finger nails.

Ingrowing toe nail : - is a painful condition due to impinging of the nail into the surrounding skin causing secondary infection. It is caused due to improper footwear and improper cutting of nails and hence more common in females.

Bacterial paronychia : - is a painful infection of the nail, caused due to overgrowth of bacteria entering through the damaged cuticle of nail. It is seen in conditions that damage the cuticle like manicure, pedicure and household work realted to detergents and water. Hence very common in maids and housewives.

Brittle and lustreless nails : - can be seen in a variety of skin conditions like psoriasis, lichen planus, atopic dermatitis atopic dermatitis, diabetics, nutritional deficiencies like iron, B12, biotin, calcium.

Cosmetology Procedures

Chemical peels :- It is a process where the dead upper layer of the skin is removed in a controlled manner. It ultimately results in smooth, supple, glowing and younger looking skin. A wide range of chemical peels are available, like glycolic, lactic, salicylic, azelaic, mandelic,retinoic peels. Depending on the skin type, a peel can be used singly or in combinations for treating various skin concerns like acne, acne marks, scars, pigmentation, dullness, fine wrinkles etc.



Skin polishing (Microdermabrasion) :- Skin Polishing is a mechanical technique of exfoliation using micro crystals and machine suction to gently remove the dead skin layer and create very smooth, glowing skin. It gives an immediate glow and freshness on face in first sitting only. With successive treatments, the skin shows additional improvement in the skin tone, texture and radiance. It is commonly used to treat dull skin, acne marks, acne scars, fine lines, ageing skin, sun damaged skin and starch marks.




Dermaroller :- Dermaroller is an instrument with multiple micro needles. The roller is gently rolled on the skin which is anaesthetised prior with an anaesthetic cream, making it a painless technique. The roller produces multiple tiny micro channels which aids in delivery of many growth factors, vitamins and serums deeper in the skin. It produces new collagen layer in the skin and helps in skin tightening and self healing. It is used in treatment of acne scars, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles, loose sagging skin, hair fall, baldness and hyperpigmentation.





Electrocauterisation :- High frequency low voltage radio frequencies waves are used to cut coagulate and remove the unwanted harmful tissues of skin with no pain and blood. It is a very short procedure to permanently remove the skin tags, moles, corns and warts

Mesotherapy :- Mesotherapy treatment involves injecting small quantities of vitamins, serums just below the skin surface using microneedles. This quickly delivers requires growth factors directly inside the skin where it is required giving noticeable results in just few sessions. It is used for treatment of both skin (pigmentation, dull skin) and hair(hair fall, baldness)problems.

PRP : - It is a technique in which Plasma rich in platelets is separated from patients own blood. It is rich in growth factors and can be used for hair fall treatment, acne scar management, treatment of early wrinkles and fine lines, skin rejuvenation (popularly known as vampire facial)

Botox : - This is a natural purified protein that relaxes the muscles causing wrinkle causing muscles, creating a rejuvenated appearance.
Action : - Botox is the most popular treatment in middle aged individuals to have wrinkle free skin. It slows down new wrinkle formation also. It is a simple non-surgical procedure that relaxes the muscles of facial expression, thus Smoothens lines and enhances beauty of the face. The areas treated are forehead, frown lines, crow's feet, lines around the mouth, chin. It is a virtually painless lunch time procedure. It takes 3 to 7 days to relax the wrinkle producing muscles and the effect can last up to 6 months after which the lines slowly starts to return Botox injections are also used to treat excessive sweating of the hands, feet or armpits.

Fillers :- With ageing, there is loss of volume from the face, thus appearing loose and saggy. Dermal fillers are gel like material that is injected in small amounts under the skin to restore the skin elasticity, tone and make it firm and tight. It is used to fill the nasolabial folds, lips, cheek augmentation and thus gives the youthful shape and look of the face back.

Thread lift :- it is a technique to lift and tighten sagging skin tissues using Bio-absorbable threads. Threads are biodegradable material which is inserted just below the skin using very fine needles. They stimulate collagen, induce angiogenesis, fibroblast growth and thus tightens the loose skin, gives a youthful complexion, improves skin tone. It treats acne scars also.

Laser : - LHR involves use of Laser for the removal of unwanted hairs by selective destruction of hair follicles. This leads to permanent reduction in the hair growth. Fractional Laser uses numerous microscopic Laser beams, which create tiny microchannels (each of about 0.05 mm in diameter) into the skin while leaving the untreated surrounding areas intact. It is useful in treating acne scars, open pores, for skin rejuvenation

Dermatology Procedures

Intralesional injection : - Intralesional steroid injection involves a corticosteroid such as triamcinolone acetonide suspension injected directly into a lesion on or immediately below the skin.
Intralesional steroid injection may be indicated for the following skin conditions :

★ Alopecia areata (patchy areas of hair loss)
★ Keloids / hypertrophic scars
★ Hypertrophic lichen planus, psoriasis
★ Acne cysts (see nodulocystic acne)

The advantages of Intralesional therapy is that it delivers the medication to the target area directly with minimal side effects

Skin biopsy : - Skin Biopsy is a simple diagnostic procedure where a small piece of skin (3mm to 7mm) is removed under local anaesthesia and sent at specialized laboratories for histopathological analysis. It helps in confirming the diagnosis of skin condition

Woods lamp analysis : - A Wood’s lamp examination is a test that uses ultraviolet (UV) light in a dark room for skin examination. The lamp under darkness causes skin colour to change which helps to identify skin problem several skin diseases like Vitiligo, Bacterial Infections, fungal infection, Porphyria, Erythasma, Tinea Versicolor, and Scabies can be diagnosed using a woods lamp.
